Few things in life give me more pleasure than helping people reach their full potential. That’s why we run our production company the way we do; pairing amateurs and newcomers with experienced professionals. I believe in the potential in every person to follow their dreams and do whatever it takes to get there.
However, like everything in life, this drive to success has a dark side. Ambition can become a hunger that devours everything and everyone in it’s path. Values quickly shift from people and relationships, to personal success alone.
People become objects and obstacles to overcome rather than living and breathing human beings deserving our affection and love.
Unhealthy addictions are often formed in our lives when we are driven by success and healthy relationships are destroyed and replaced with unhealthy alternatives.
However, it’s also out of this need that we can perform work at our highest capacity.
It’s this tension that interests me, and one that will be explored in this film; provoking more questions than offering clear answers.
It’s out of this need to survive at all costs, that the story of The Out of the Woods Project was born.
It evolved from a mess of ideas to a beautiful story about a man suffering from his own sense of feeling lost in the woods of his own life and fighting to keep the one thing that has ever mattered to him, his family. Which is mirrored in parallel stories both literally and metaphorically.
In a generation addicted to success and personal glory, we believe that it's a story worth telling, and one we can't wait to share with all of you.
